Do you know about six-axis industrial robots?

In production, industrial robots generally need to be equipped with peripheral equipment in addition to their own performance characteristics, such as a rotary table for rotating workpieces, a mobile table for moving workpieces, etc. The movement orientation control of these peripheral equipment need to be coordinated with the industrial robot  require corresponding precision. Generally, the robot motion axis can be divided into robot axis, base axis tooling axis according to its function. The base axis tooling axis are collectively called external axis.

Industrial robot

In actual production, 6-joint industrial robots are commonly used. This manipulator has 6 movable joints (axes), the definition of the motion axis of different industrial robots is also different. The axis used to ensure that the end effector reaches any position in the working space is called the basic axis main axis; the axis used to achieve any spatial posture of the end effector is called the wrist axis secondary axis.

The effect of six axes

Front axis: The front axis is the position connected to the chassis. It is also the load-bearing core position. It bears the weight of the entire robot the robot's large left right horizontal swings.

The second axis: an important axis for controlling the robot's forward backward swing elasticity.

The third axis: The third axis is also the axis that controls the robot's forward backward swing, but the swing amplitude is much smaller than that of the second axis. However, this is also the basis for the arm span of the six-axis robot .

The fourth axis: The fourth axis is an axis that controls the upper arm part to rotate freely 180°, which is equivalent to the human forearm.

Fifth axis: The fifth axis is very important. After you have almost adjusted the position, you need to accurately position it on the product, which requires the use of the fifth axis, which is equivalent to the human wrist.

Sixth axis: After you position the fifth axis on the product, if you need some minor changes, you will need to use the sixth axis, which is equivalent to a turntable that can rotate 360° horizontally. You can position the product more accurately.
